1️⃣ Milestone - Impact on diagnostic industry
I contributed to the diagnostic industry by delivering new and improved diagnostic devices, focusing on what users need and working with different teams.
We created easy-to-use medical devices by listening to laboratory staff, medical experts, and company leaders. Our work was so successful that our devices won design awards.
2️⃣ Milestone - OneRoche DS creation
I created and led the OneRoche Design System project, which made all of Roche's diagnostic products look and work in a similar way.
We built a collection of design rules and elements that everyone could use. This made our products more consistent and saved time and money in development.
3️⃣ Milestone - First design award and service foundation
I contributed to the cobas 5800 product development, which earned the iF DESIGN AWARD.
I also improved the internal visual design service to help projects handle fluctuating workloads and resource demands. It grew in both efficiency and impact, becoming a vital department resource that ensured consistent, high-quality design delivery.
cobas 5800
The cobas 5800 is a lab testing machine that can process 20-100 tests per day. Once samples are loaded, it works on its own without needing constant attention. Built using the OneRoche Design System, it's easy to use, space-efficient, and has a simple, user-friendly screen interface.
External service coordination
The design department faced challenges with fluctuating project workloads and deliverable demands.
To fix this, I optimized collaboration with the existing external design agency, so as coordinator we implemented a Trello-based task management system that streamlined request handling, delivery processes, and feedback loops.
This made everything work better: we delivered higher quality work, had more balanced workloads, and could better predict future needs.
4️⃣ Milestone - LightCycler PRO and Red Dot Award
As UX Lead for the LightCycler PRO System, I managed all design activities and oversaw the collaboration with the assigned external agency.
The final product succeeded in creating an innovative, user-friendly diagnostic device, which was recognized in 2024 with the Red Dot Award.
